How do I register for the conference?

Registration is easy. You can book your free ticket online

How do I know my online registration was received?

You will receive an automatic response shortly after you submit the online form with the details of your registration. Once your free ticket order has been processed you will receive your confirmation of registration (E-ticket) via email.

When is the Conference?

This year’s conference takes place on Wednesday 20th February 2018. Registration opens at 08:30am.

Where is the venue for the Conference?

Double Tree Hilton Hotel just a 8 minute walk from the Brayford Campus

How do I get to the Conference?

You can walk to the hotel from the University Brayford Campus and public transport will deposit your close by, the train station is only 1 mile away.

Is there parking available?

There are NO parking facilities at the hotel for the day of the conference

Is there lunch available?

A free lunch will be provided for all delegates, this will cater for all tastes and dietary requirements. (Please indicate when registering for the conference any specific dietary requirements you have.)

A series of Tea/Coffee breaks have also been scheduled to take place throughout the day.

Does the venue have wheelchair access?

Yes, please indicate on your registration form any provisions that will need to be into place for you to attend the conference.

What do I need on the day?

On the day of the conference, please bring your e-ticket / email that you will have received at registration.

What time commitment is required of research students who take part?

Research students who are selected to take part in the conference are required to attend the conference itself -in full i.e., there is a total time commitment of one day.

What happens at the Showcase?

Presenters are asked to arrive from 8.30 am - 9:00 am on the day of the conference. Registration opens at 8.30 am for all delegates and the day starts with a Welcome note from Dr Jonathan Cooper, Director of the Doctoral School at the University of Lincoln. This is followed by a keynote speech from Dr Roger Bretherton around 'The Character of a Researcher'.

From 10.30 am – 12.30 pm Delegates will take part in two presentation sessions from research students. Over this period they will be asked to score presenters on the quality of their presentations and their ability to both explain, and answer questions about, their research.  Lunch will then be provided with the opportunity to view stalls that will be of value and information for all postgraduate students.

The afternoon plenary session will be presented by Dr Julie Bayley with the focus on Impact and your research. This will be followed by the poster session, with a short student-focused session around 'Surviving your PhD', presented by Charlotte Cartledge and Lauren Mumby. A third final plenary will be delivered by Tony Roche, of Emerald Publishing, focused around academic publishing . The day will close with the Three Minute Thesis final and the presentation of prizes to the successful presenters and poster submissions. The showcase normally finishes around 4pm.

Who else will attend the Showcase?

The showcase is open to all students and staff at the University of Lincoln.

Do I have to print the poster myself?

Yes, you will print the poster and bring it to the Doctoral school by Friday 8th February 2018.

You will also have to submit an electronic copy of your poster by Friday 25th January 2018 to be used in the showcase booklet.
